Advanced Math & Algebra I Criteria:

7th Grade Advanced Math
The purpose of the 7th grade advanced math class is to meet the learning differences of scholars that demonstrate high levels of performance in mathematics and an independent and self motivated work ethic. In order to be considered for the 7th grade advanced mathematics class, the scholar must meet the following criteria.
● Scholars must earn a cumulative grade of an “A” in the previous math course
● Scholars must have scored advanced or a scale score of 757 or greater on the most recent LEAP test.
● Scholars must have the recommendation of the previous math teacher.
8th Grade Honors Algebra I
The purpose of the 8th grade Algebra I class is to meet the learning differences of scholars that demonstrate high levels of performance in mathematics and an independent and self motivated work ethic. In order to be considered for the 8th Grade Honors Algebra I class, the scholar must meet the following criteria.
● Scholars must earn a cumulative grade of an “A” in the 7th grade advanced math class.
SBLC may give special consideration to scholars which may have not had the opportunity to enroll in the 7th grade advanced math class.
● Scholars must have scored advanced or a scale score of 757 or greater on the most recent LEAP test.
● Scholars must have the recommendation of the previous math teacher.
